Emma and Caleb | Mountain Engagement Photos | Golden, Colorado

I’ve had the pleasure of working with many couples over the years, but Emma and Caleb wanted mountain engagement photos and their session was something special. From the moment I met them, I could see how in love they were, and it was clear that their relationship was built on a foundation of friendship and mutual respect.

One of the first things I learned about Emma and Caleb is that they both attend the School of Mines and will be graduating this May. They also go to the same church, where Emma led a Bible study during Covid. It was during this Bible study that they first met, and Caleb was immediately drawn to Emma’s warmth and kindness.

In fact, Caleb was so taken with Emma that he offered to drive her to the airport at 4 am. Emma had no idea that he liked her and didn’t pick up on the hint until he asked her out at the airport. It’s such a cute story that perfectly encapsulates the nature of their relationship.

Emma and Caleb have been through tough times together, but they always have each other’s backs. They battle tough times by going to get ice cream together when things get hard. They are such an affectionate and playful couple and it was a joy to capture that energy on camera.

The Story of Emma & Caleb’s Proposal

As Emma and Caleb say, “Friends are the foundation of their community,” and this was evident during their proposal story. Emma’s sister was visiting, and she thought that Caleb was going to propose at sunset. When he didn’t, she jokingly said, “now would’ve been a good time to propose”. Later, Caleb did pop the question, and all of their friends, who had been hiding in the bushes, jumped out to surprise her.

Mountain Engagement Photos with Emma & Caleb

Our engagement session started at Emma and Caleb’s house before we moved to the mountains. When we were discussing the overall theme of the session, Emma told me that, earlier in their relationship, she asked Caleb to knock on her door before their dates. I LOVED that part of their story, so we recreated that moment at the start of their session with Caleb bringing Emma flowers at her home in Golden.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Emma and Caleb, and I’m so honored to photograph their wedding in August. I have no doubt it will be a day filled with so much love and laughter.
