GET IN TOUCH
After Katy’s and Travis’ engagement session a year ago, they decided to hire me for their wedding photography and my wife Jenny to plan their Lake Michigan wedding. We were both so excited! Jenny and I know Katy and Travis through a mutual friend so the couple was beyond excited to work with Jenny. It was an amazing experience for me to work with her to create this gorgeous day in Racine, Wisconsin. (Which, coincidently, is the same small city where we got engaged!)
Katy and Travis had a beautiful wedding right on Lake Michigan. (Now obviously one of my favorite wedding venues on Lake Michigan!) Having the lake as a focal point of the couple’s wedding was very important to them. Since they’re both from Chicago, Lake Michigan has been a big part of their lives. They had such a beautiful view looking out toward the lake on the shore at the private estate where they hosted their wedding.
Katy and Travis got to be with their closest loved ones, yucking it up at dinner and dancing around the bonfire afterwards. Before their wedding they both told us they are suckers for dive bars and old school steakhouses (which is one of the many things Jenny and I love about them). They couldn’t believe their luck when they found out Hob Nob, a vintage-looking Wisconsin Supper Club, was immediately next door to their ceremony venue!
My favorite moments of the day happened after dinner when guests joined Katy and Travis in the backyard, where they cut their cake, had their first dance, and were joined by their guests around the bonfire as they celebrated all night.
