Located in Allenspark, Colorado, Wild Basin Lodge is an all-inclusive, family-owned Colorado wedding venue. Say your vows in front of a beautiful meadow with mountains in the background, or surrounded by treas along a rushing river and then take your reception to the lodge, enjoy a delicious dinner made by their on-site chef, and dance the night away before heading upstairs to your comfortable suite at the end of the night. Wild Basin Lodge truly has it all. I love the variety of nature-centric views at Wild Basin Lodge.

Brief History

Wild Basin Lodge is a small, family-run business located in Allenspark, Colorado, right next to Rocky Mountain National Park. Located on 14 acres of land with really beautiful mountains, Wild Basin Lodge opened their doors to hosting events in 2013.

Noteworthy Features

Wild Basin Lodge has a Honeymoon Suite available for $300 per night and 3 additional Standard rooms, each at $250 per night, available the night of your wedding. They also partner with a local hotel that can satisfy larger room blocks when needed.

It also has its very own award-winning culinary chef who is an expert in serving food precisely when requested, yet is able to make last minute adjustments that no planning can forecast. Popular menu items include bacon wrapped dates, Boursin & Swiss stuffed mushrooms, prime rib, snakebites, tequila braised chicken flatbread, wild boar sausage, and much more.

They also host only one wedding a day and have a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

The Wedding Ceremony

Between Meadow Peak and River Run, you’re sure to find the perfect rustic wedding venue you’ve been looking for.

Meadow Peak. Most couples tend to have their wedding ceremony at the Meadow Peak ceremony site. Say your vows at 8,083 feet with absolutely sunning views of both Mt. Meeker and Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park towering behind you. This incredible backdrop is a private, intimate wedding venue that keeps you close to nature as you say “I do.”

River Run. If you’re looking at wedding venues in Colorado with a river view, the River Run at Wild Basin Lodge might be for you. This outdoor wedding venue is located along the St. Vrain River, creating a calming environment for you and your guests at your wedding with the sound of rushing water around you. The stadium-style seating at River Run allow all your guests to enjoy an unobstructed view of your ceremony.

Reception Space & Guest Accommodation

The reception space at Wild Basin Lodge includes a bar, lodging, in-house chef services, and more. The key features of the reception space include 8,000 square feet with a deck that overlooks the St. Vrain River and Mt. Copeland for cocktail hour, dinner seating for up to 200 guests, and a full service bar.

Cost Considerations

In 2022, on a Saturday during their peak season (June to October), you can expect the cost for this all-inclusive venue to be around $190 per person with a 100 guest minimum. In the other months of the year (excluding holidays) their off peak season pricing is around $160 per person with a 50 person minimum.

These costs include a 5 hour reception, their 3-level lodge with 2 staging rooms and indoor dinner reception, two appetizers (passed or stationed), salad, family style dinner service, non-alcoholic beverages, cake cutting service, all tables, chairs, service ware, glassware, and linens.

In order to offer a custom experience that fits each couple’s needs, Wild Basin Lodge prices its bar packages outside of its standard inclusions, allowing couples to choose the options that would make most sense for their unique wedding. One note is that Wild Basin Lodge has its own liquor license, so they don’t allow outside alcohol vendors. Drink prices range from $5 to $12 for beer, wine, and premium cocktails, and there’s a bar setup fee of $350.

One thing I like about Wild Basin Lodge is that it has a Honeymoon Suite available for $300 per night and 3 additional Standard rooms, each at $250 per night, available the night of your wedding. They also partner with a local hotel that can satisfy larger room blocks when needed.
