Polly and Christian’s winery wedding at Balistreri Vineyards in Denver was truly something special. Held on March 17, their big day was filled with love, elegance, and unique personal touches that made it a joy to photograph. Jenny, my wife, had the honor of serving as their day-of coordinator, adding an extra layer of connection to this remarkable celebration.
Polly and Christian’s journey began in Colorado, but they now call Chicago home. From the moment I met them, I knew I wanted to work together. They are so deeply in love and excited to embark on this new chapter together.
Getting Ready in Downtown Denver
The couple chose the stunning Balistreri Vineyards as the backdrop for their winery wedding. However, before exchanging their vows, Polly and Christian got ready at a cool, trendy hotel in downtown Denver. It was during this intimate and emotional pre-wedding time that they chose to read the heartfelt letters they had written to each other as they prepared to embark on this lifelong adventure together.
As the excitement built, the groom shared touching first looks with his parents. Polly, in turn, shared emotional moments with her parents. Finally, the much-anticipated first look between the bride and groom arrived. A tender moment filled with anticipation, joy, and an overwhelming sense of love.
Following Polly and Christian’s first look, the wedding party joined me outside to capture some wedding party photographs together. We even took a stroll down the street in front of Union Station, taking advantage of the lively cityscape as a charming backdrop. Subsequently we continued the photography session in Union Station, capturing creative portraits that beautifully reflected the couple’s love.
A Winery Wedding at Balistreri Vineyards
The wedding ceremony at Balistreri Vineyards was just beautiful, made all the more memorable by the musical talents of Polly’s family. Her father and sister brought a special touch to the occasion with a heartfelt rendition of the song What a Wonderful World.
For the reception, the tables were beautifully decorated with cherished photographs from previous family weddings. This beautiful detail evoked a sense of nostalgia and warmth throughout the venue. As the evening unfolded, Polly and Christian gracefully stole the spotlight for their first dance. With their amazing, choreographed routine, they captivated everyone in attendance, leaving a lasting impression and setting the stage for an enchanting night. As if that wasn’t enough, Polly surprised Christian and their guests by taking the microphone and serenading her new husband with a surprise performance of Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About.
The dance floor came alive, and the celebration continued into the night. Laughter, joy, and love filled the air as family and friends joined Polly and Christian to revel in their happiness.
Lastly, for the couple’s send-off, Polly and Christian walked through a path lined with their loved ones, who showered them with rose petals, symbolizing love and well wishes for their future together. It was a magical ending to a day filled with enchantment, love, and cherished memories.
