Brenda & Alex | Mile High Station Wedding | Denver, Colorado

Capturing Alex and Brenda’s Mile High Station wedding was such an honor. Their love story culminated in a celebration filled with heartfelt moments, a cool industrial venue in Denver, and dancing the night away. When I asked the couple what they were most looking forward to on their big day, their answers perfectly encapsulated their personalities. With a grin, Alex said he was eagerly anticipating kissing his stunning bride. On the other hand, Brenda spoke of the powerful, heartfelt exchange of vows and the dancing that was soon to follow! Their love and livelihood are contagious; you can instantly feel that when looking through their photos.

First Look at Denver’s Red Rocks

Brenda and Alex’s choice of venues was a testament to their love for Denver and its aesthetic. They wanted to share the beauty of their local home with their out-of-state and international guests. Red Rocks provided that majestic mountain feel, while Mile High Station paid tribute to Denver’s industrial history.

They started their day with a first look at Red Rocks, home of the famous Red Rocks amphitheater. Their families were there to help each of them get ready, sharing touching moments in their respective suites. After shedding a tear or two, they each headed to the lush fields for their first look. Meanwhile, the contrast of the rusty rocks against the moody skies set a romantic tone and provided the perfect lighting. (Who says some rain on your wedding day is bad? We actually switched gears right after their first look and decided to have their ceremony at the reception site because it was raining quite a bit at Red Rocks. Alex and Brenda were so amazing through the whole day, it was so great to see!)

A Festive Wedding at Mile High Station

Afterward, everyone met at the Mile High Station in downtown Denver for the main event. While guests filed into this industrial venue, they were greeted with a string quartet and the smiling faces of their families. Brenda and Alex’s approach to wedding decor was refreshingly simple yet full of life. They aimed for fun, bold, festive & playful vibes that perfectly matched their vibrant personalities. With venues as stunning as Red Rocks and Mile High Station, they wisely decided not to overwhelm with excessive decorations, letting the natural beauty shine through.

When it comes to their favorite vendors, Encore Catering stood out for the couple. Encore’s Puerto Rican chef crafted authentic and delicious Puerto Rican dishes like Pernil, a slow-roasted and marinated pork shoulder, as a nod to Alex’s heritage. As promised, it was soooo good.

Speaking of food and drink, the wedding feast was a Caribbean treat in the heart of the mountains. Guests enjoyed a Puerto Rican dinner accompanied by mouthwatering Arroz con Gandules, a seasoned, grandma-style rice-and-beans dish, and all the fixings. Simply said, this dinner was an unforgettable experience for their guests who never tried Puerto Rican food. The evening was made that much more memorable with heartwarming speeches from their parents, siblings, wedding party, and more. By the end, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

After a flavorful meal, the party got started! Everyone was on the dance floor, from young to old, with jumbo glow sticks in hand. I’m not sure what was a bigger hit, the conga line or the photo booth. These two clearly know how to throw a party and show their guests a night to remember. They danced until the lights came on and that’s how you know you did it right!

Congratulations, Brenda and Alex!
