I had the privilege of capturing a stunning ranch wedding styled editorial that recently was featured in Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine. In this styled editorial, rustic charm and natural textures converged harmoniously against the backdrop of Colorado’s majestic Rocky Mountains. This was an unforgettable day, and I loved capturing every moment of love and beauty on camera.
Setting the Scene for a Ranch Wedding
Along the banks of the Big Thompson River near Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch provided the idyllic setting for our styled editorial. With sweeping mountain vistas and picturesque pastures, this Colorado horse and cattle ranch truly captured the essence of the western lifestyle.
The Creative Team
Together, every vendor who worked on this project infused romance, earthy elements, and natural textures into every detail. Paper and Dust crafted elegant invitations with modern shapes and textured leather. The bride wore a stunning pear-shaped diamond ring from John Atencio’s signature collection. The groom’s custom men’s band, designed by John Atencio, featured an antler inlay. It added a touch of rugged elegance that perfectly complemented the editorial’s aesthetic.
Romantic Luxury for Rocky Mountain Bride
The evening’s festivities took place on the bend of the property’s river. The floral arrangements featured a romantic color palette of reds, blush, mauve, and peach, all designed by Sheilan Mueller of Yarrow & Spruce. Each table setting was complete with a bold rust linen napkin, ivory stoneware dinner plates, rose gold flatware, and vintage blush glassware. Adding a personalized touch, circular leather place cards and soft pink menus beautifully echoed the invitations.
Unforgettable Moments
One of the highlights of the day was the running of the horses. As the wranglers gathered the majestic creatures, the guests were treated to the breathtaking sight of horses galloping across wide-open spaces, an iconic scene.

As the grand centerpiece of the evening, a four-tiered wedding cake took center stage, beckoning everyone’s attention. Adorned with an artful arrangement of red, pink, and white flowers, the peach-colored confection was a true masterpiece. The wedding cake was skillfully crafted by the talented Sweet Ride Bakeshop. It served as the sweet finale, leaving everyone in awe and truly embodying the creativity and craftsmanship that made the occasion even more remarkable.
